In honor of this year’s #PaintItPurple theme for International Women’s Day, we have a luscious Purple Smoothie that will make you strong, healthy, and beautiful.
Purple cabbage in a smoothie? We know it’s weird but we cannot resist trying to milk the purple goodness of this veggie.
Besides helping complexion remain clean and clear, this cruciferous vegetable has anti-cancer properties, promotes heart health, aids digestion, lowers bad cholesterol and blood pressure.
To mask the “cabbage” taste, we added orange-flavored collagen peptide powder that also has beautifying qualities, and a generous dose of brown rice syrup (stevia would also work).
2 cups unsweetened almond milk
1 cup frozen blueberries or mixed berries
3 teaspoons acai powder
1 tablespoon chia seeds
¼ head purple cabbage
1 tablespoon vanilla protein powder
1 tablespoon brown rice syrup
1 scoop Sparkle Collagen
Put everything in a high-speed blender and blend till smooth. You’ll feel virtuous for drinking this baby up but it won’t be painful at all, we promise!
