Wait, doesn’t moringa look like matcha? The green powdery appearance and bitter taste seem like a dead-ringer for Japanese powdered tea but actually it’s a superfood from South Asia.
In recent years moringa has become buzzy in the holistic foods market for its nutrient dense profile — high in antioxidants, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, promotes digestive health, balances hormones, and is protein-rich.
How can you get this amazing superfood into your diet more often? There are different ways you can consume it but our favorite (and quickest) way is to pop some moringa into our breakfast smoothie.
Here’s an incredibly creamy and tasty green smoothie recipe that hides the bitter flavor of moringa:
1 cup unsweentened coconut milk
1/2 cup of filtered water
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 cup of frozen mango
1 frozen banana
1 tablespoon of rolled oats
1 tablespoon of flax seed
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
1 tablespoon of moringa powder
Handful of parsley
1 scoop of Sparkle Skin Boost Apple & Ginger
Blend in a high speed blender till smooth.
