Calming Lavender Orange Tea

Calming Lavender Orange Tea

If you are ever in need of a calming tea, this fragrant brew will absolutely do the job. Wrapping your hands around a warm mug of tea is one of the best ways to de-stress and unwind.

In aromatherapy, lavender is well-known to ease anxiety and calm the mind so it’ll come to no surprise that the ritual of breathing in the steam let off by steeping lavender tea is thoroughly relaxing in itself.

Bring two cups of water to boil in a kettle and pour it over a teaspoon of loose lavender tea in a strainer in a tea pot for 10 minutes. Or you can steep the tea in a regular pot and use a baking strainer later.

Remove the lavender flowers after steeping and add a scoop of Sparkle Collagen with Verisol® into the brew. Stir till the collagen peptide powder is dissolved.

Add thin slices of orange and squeeze the juice out of the remaining orange into your tea. Sip slowly and luxuriate in this bubble of relaxation.

This is a simple three-ingredient home brew which you cannot get wrong, but here are a few tips to make this even better — use organic, food-grade lavender tea and make sure this tea is cooled to 42 degrees C (or 118 degrees F) so the citrus goodness from the fresh orange is not destroyed by the heat.

How could you tell without using a thermometer? If the tea is still warm but doesn’t burn your tongue, you can safely add the orange slices and juice.

Interestingly, the efficacy of Sparkle Collagen is not affected by heat so it’s still stable when mixed in both hot and cold beverages.
